Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - PT Trimegah Bangun Persada Tbk (NCKL) or Harita Nickel, a sustainable mining and nickel processing company, has successfully achieved ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018 certifications. This significant achievement marks Harita Nickel's commitment to world-class environmental management practices and operational health and safety.
Tonny Gultom, Director of Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) at Harita Nickel, stated that these two certifications serve as evidence of Harita's dedication to prioritizing environmental sustainability and employee safety in every operational aspect.
"This also simultaneously affirms that Harita Nickel is not only focused on outcomes, but that achieving a common goal must be done with full responsibility," explained Tonny in a written statement on Wednesday (December 13, 2023).
The ISO 14001:2015 certification, focusing on the effectiveness of environmental management systems, underscores Harita Nickel's longstanding commitment to implementing sustainable and responsible practices toward the environment. This certification encompasses crucial aspects such as environmental risk assessment, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement.
Meanwhile, ISO 45001:2018 acknowledges Harita Nickel's high standards in health and safety management and emphasizes a proactive approach to creating a safe and healthy work environment for all employees. This certification demands a consistent process in identifying hazards, reducing risks, and preventing injuries as well as health issues in the workplace.
To obtain the ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018 certifications, Harita Nickel underwent a series of audit activities conducted by internationally renowned auditors from SGS Indonesia.
Meanwhile, Knowledge Director of SGS Indonesia, Waras Putri Andrianti, added that obtaining ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 certifications is not an easy feat.
"This requires a high commitment from the management and staff of PT Trimegah Bangun Persada Tbk, as well as consistent implementation and continuous improvement of the established standards. Harita Nickel has demonstrated exceptional leadership in applying these international standards, which not only benefits the company but also the community, the environment, and all stakeholders," she emphasized.
