Malang, July 26, 2024 - PT Trimegah Bangun Persada Tbk (NCKL) or Harita Nickel, a sustainable integrated nickel mining and processing company, received awards for its public relations and corporate communication performance in The 3rd Indonesia DEI & ESG Awards (IDEAS) 2024 which was held on Friday (26/7) in Malang City. Harita Nickel managed to bring one Gold Winner title and two Silver Winner titles in the Strategic Public Relations Program Category based on Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) practices. This proud achievement confirms Harita Nickel's commitment to sustainability and social responsibility. The awards were presented directly by PR Indonesia Group founder and CEO Asmono Wikan to Director of Health, Safety, and Environment Tonny Gultom, Head of External Relations Latif Supriadi, and Corporate Affairs Superintendent Saradeta Sinaga.
In IDEAS 2024, Harita Nickel won the Gold Winner for the Employee Relations program through the 'Satu Harita' internal campaign. This campaign aims to strengthen the spirit of collaboration between all employees. Meanwhile, two Silver Winner titles were won for the Biodiversity program through the Obi Fishing Tournament which aims to raise awareness of the importance of biodiversity conservation around the Company's operational areas, and the Corporate Social Responsibility program through the Sentra Ketahanan Pangan Obi (SENTANI) which is designed to improve food security and the welfare of local communities around Harita Nickel's operational areas.
“We are very grateful for the recognition given to our ESG initiatives. This award will further motivate us to always innovate to realize sustainability through various initiatives and contributions in ESG practices. This is also the success of our Corporate Communication team in highlighting ESG-based communication programs that we do both internally and externally,” said Tonny Gultom.
IDEAS itself is a competition organized by PR Indonesia Group. This competition is focused on measuring programs and best practices in the implementation of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion (DEI) and ESG communications that are open to public relations professionals from Ministries/ Institutions/Regions, universities, BUMN, BUMN subsidiaries, BUMD, RSUP/RSSUD, multinational corporations, national private corporations, NGOs, to non-profit organizations throughout Indonesia.
“In the future, we hope that the ESG concept can be widely recognized and that more and more companies will apply its principles, because our future depends on the number of company operations that apply ESG principles. In addition, we hope to continue to be consistent in communicating ESG and DEI within and outside the Company,” said Latif Supriadi.
Furthermore, the assessment of the Company's communication programs competed in IDEAS is focused on several aspects. Among others, communication strategies and programs that are systematic, measurable, and sustainable, taking into account DEI and/or ESG policies or initiatives, clarity of objectives (SMART Objectives) and intended stakeholders, media strategies and communication tactics used, measurement and evaluation, and the impact of communication programs for stakeholders.
