Harita Nickel supports the construction of a mosque in New Village

Harita Nickel, through one of its subsidiaries, PT Jikodolong Megah Pertiwi (JMP), provided financial support for the construction of Darul Taqwa Mosque in New Village, Obi District, South Halmahera Regency.

The Rp 150 million donation was symbolically handed over by Andri Rudiarto, Community Relation Superintendent of Harita Nickel, to the Chairman of the Darul Taqwa Mosque Construction Committee, La Saaru Lantoroso, on Sunday, October 8, 2023.

Andri Rudiarto said the financial support for the construction of the mosque is part of the company's community development and empowerment (PPM) program in its operating area on Obi Island. 

"At present, the PT Jikodolong Megah Pertiwi project is still in the exploration stage. Therefore, we ask for the support of all villagers so that the company's operations can run smoothly and continue to grow so that the company can also contribute more to the welfare of the local community," said Andri.

Harita Nickel's efforts were recognized by the local village government. The head of Baru village, through the village secretary, Anganria La Husen, expressed his gratitude for the company's support. 

"We hope that this assistance can be useful to the residents and that the company can continue to pay attention to the surrounding community," said Anganria.

The same sentiment was expressed by the sub-district chief of Obi through the sub-district secretary, Risno Tjia. According to him, the company's commitment is exceptional. 

"On behalf of the Obi sub-district government, we are very proud of the support provided by the company. Although the JMP project is still in the exploration stage, the company has actively reached out to local residents," he said.

For information, the Rp150 million financial assistance will be paid in three stages. Every month, the company will provide Rp50 million in assistance, with 50 percent in cash and 50 percent in construction materials.
