Harita Nickel received an award in the field of social and environmental from KATAM Malut

Ternate, October 10, 2023 - Sustainable integrated mining and downstream company, PT Trimegah Bangun Persada Tbk (NCKL) or Harita Nickel, has once again received a prestigious award in the field of social and environment. This time the award was presented at the KATAM Mining Awards 2023 held on Tuesday (10/23) at the Royal Resto Ball Room, Ternate.

At the event organized by the North Maluku Advocacy Consortium (KATAM), Harita Nickel received an award in the category of "Commitment to Promote Community Development and Empowerment Programs (CDE) in North Maluku Province". The award was presented by the coordinator of KATAM Malut, Muhlis Ibrahim, and received by Harita Nickel's Corporate Communications Manager, Anie Rahmi.

Anie Rahmi said that this award was the result of a collaborative effort to prioritize community development and empowerment in all of the company's operational activities, especially in Obi Island, South Halmahera.

"Hopefully, we can continue to maintain and improve this achievement. This is a tribute to the extended Harita Group family, which continues to carry out community development and empowerment programs, especially in fostering small and medium enterprises," said Anie.

In addition to the SME mentoring program, Harita Nickel also has a program called the Basic Infrastructure Fulfillment for Obi's Welfare (Pijar Obi). This program aims to provide electricity access to the homes of residents and other public facilities in the villages of Kawasi and Tabuji, Obi Island, South Halmahera.

"This program also provides many benefits to the surrounding residents, including supporting children's education to be carried out without hindrance due to the limitations of illumination," Anie added.

The Coordinator of North Maluku KATAM, Muhlis Ibrahim, also conveyed the assessment and considerations behind the selection of Harita Nickel as the recipient of this award. One of the considerations is that the Community Development and Empowerment Program (CDE) implemented by Harita Nickel was deemed to be well-integrated with various excellent concepts and innovations.

"We have seen several concepts that are being implemented very effectively in the community, including the Community Entrepreneurship Unit program (Kawasi Unik), the Movement for Self-Reliance and Strengthening the Capacity of Village Business Actors (Gemar Papeda), and the Pijar Obi program. Therefore, the community development and empowerment programs carried out by Harita Nickel are very measurable and targeted, which is the main reason for us to award Harita Nickel," concluded Muhlis.
