Everyone’s professional journey is unique. Some start with a wealth of experience, while others build their careers from the ground up. Rudianto Sapsuha belongs to the latter group. Beginning his academic life studying Information Technology, he transitioned to a crucial role within Harita Nickel's Fire Emergency Service (FES). This unit serves as the front line for readiness and response to a wide range of emergencies, from fire incidents to first aid.
The shift from the world of computers to life-saving operations was a foreign one for him, but it has since become a significant part of his life. This is where Rudianto's new journey began.
For Rudianto, the first challenge was adaptation. “The most significant initial challenge was adapting. This was my first experience working in an industrial environment,” he recalls. However, it was precisely there that he found learning opportunities he had never imagined.
He states that Harita Nickel is not just a workplace but also a space to hone skills. He has participated in various training programs, from firefighter certification to Water Rescue training with the National SAR Agency in Ternate. These opportunities have not only expanded his knowledge but also strengthened his role as a key figure in corporate safety.
His career has grown through the different training programs facilitated by the company. Rudianto has directly experienced the impact: increased confidence and more open opportunities for continuous development. “The most interesting thing about Harita Nickel is the opportunity to learn and innovate, especially given my background is not from the nickel industry,” he says.
For Rudianto, the key to success at Harita Nickel is simple yet fundamental: continuous learning, prayer, growth, and maintaining professionalism. These are the same values he applies to building camaraderie with his FES team members. “Communication and teamwork are very important. But what makes me most comfortable here is the sense of family,” he states.
Workplace safety is also a non-negotiable aspect of his job. He emphasizes that safety is not just a company priority but a personal principle that allows him to work with peace of mind. “Workplace safety is extremely important. There is no negotiation,” he stresses.
Behind his determination lies a source of constant inspiration: his family, senior colleagues, and supervisors who guide his every step. As a native of North Maluku, he has a message for the younger generation: “Harita Nickel is always open. Especially for us, as sons and daughters of the region, we have priority and a golden opportunity to learn, grow, and build a career here.”
Rudianto’s story is a reminder that opportunities are always available to those who are willing to try and never stop learning. With a willingness to learn and a professional attitude, anyone has the chance to grow, even in a world that initially seems strange.
