In celebration of Indonesia's 79th Independence Day, Harita Nickel, through its business unit PT Halmahera Persada Lygend (HPL), organized a Fun Walk on Sunday, August 4, 2024. The event, held at the PT HPL Living Quarter, was open to all employees and is part of the company’s annual initiative to mark Independence Day while strengthening team cohesion and fostering a sense of national pride among staff.
The Fun Walk, which commenced at 6:00 AM local time, saw enthusiastic participation from hundreds of PT HPL employees across various departments. The route covered the Living Quarter area, offering scenic views of Obi Island’s natural landscape.
In addition to the Fun Walk, the company hosted a series of activities to further energize the Sunday morning event. These included a health exercise session and traditional games such as a cracker-eating contest and marble races. The festivities were lively and competitive, with the crowd cheering for their colleagues.
"The event was a lot of fun! Even though this isn’t my first time participating in such company activities, it always feels enjoyable," said Agretia Griani Tiara, one of the enthusiastic Fun Walk participants.
Earlier, on Sunday, July 21, 2024, another Harita Nickel business unit, PT Megah Surya Pertiwi (MSP), hosted a similar event, attended by hundreds of PT MSP employees, underscoring the company’s commitment to fostering team spirit and celebrating the essence of independence.
In addition, various traditional and unique competitions, such as Dump Truck (DT) pulling contests, kite festivals, and poco-poco dances, were held across Harita Nickel's business units operating on Obi Island.
