Harita Nickel’s community-based stunting prevention initiatives have once again earned national recognition. For its consistent contribution to accelerating efforts to reduce stunting, Harita Nickel received a Gold Rating at the GENTING Collaboration Summit 2025, hosted by the Ministry of Population and Family Development (BKKBN) on Wednesday, 10 December 2025.
The award recognizes pentahelix partners that have demonstrated strong cross-sector collaboration in supporting the GENTING Program (Foster Parents Movement for Stunting Prevention). Held under the theme “Synergy for the Nation, Toward a Stunting-Free Indonesia,” the summit highlighted the vital role of the private sector in strengthening inclusive and sustainable community health systems.
Vice President of Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) & Management System at Harita Nickel, Supriyanto Suwarno, emphasized that this achievement reflects the company's approach in implementing its Community Development and Empowerment Program sustainably.
"For Harita Nickel, this achievement does not stand alone. The Gold rating is the result of a systematic community development and empowerment approach based on the needs of the community in the operational area, through collaboration with local governments, health workers, and the community," he said.
The award was given to pentahelix partners, who were deemed to have made a positive contribution in supporting the implementation of the GENTING (Foster Parents Movement to Prevent Stunting) program through cross-sectoral synergy. With the theme "Synergy for the Country, Realizing a Stunting-Free Indonesia," this forum highlighted the crucial role of the business world in strengthening an inclusive public health system.
As part of the implementation of the community development and empowerment program in the health sector, Harita Nickel undertakes various initiatives aimed at preventing stunting, focusing on strengthening local capacity and promoting long-term behavioral change. These programs include family nutrition counseling, strengthening maternal and child health services, empowering healthcare workers, and assisting families at risk of stunting. A community-based approach allows for sustainable and more targeted interventions.
The implementation of a measurable community development and empowerment program is reflected in the Soligi Zero Stunting program in Soligi Village. This program was developed as a community-based health intervention that integrates family assistance, community health worker empowerment, and nutrition education through collaboration with local government and health workers. This approach promotes measurable improvements in the health status of children previously identified as stunted.
For this achievement, Soligi Zero Stunting received the 2025 Subroto Award from the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) in the category of Most Innovative Community Development and Empowerment Program in the Health Sector, further validating that a systematically designed community development and empowerment program approach can produce measurable social impact.
Supriyanto added that this Gold rating serves as an incentive for the company to continue improving the quality and scope of its community development programs. "This award is not the end of our journey, but rather motivation to expand collaboration and ensure that every intervention provides long-term benefits, especially for the communities in the vicinity of Harita Nickel's operations on Obi Island," he said.
Achieving the Gold rating at the GENTING Collaboration Summit 2025 reaffirms Harita Nickel's commitment to implementing a community development program as part of its sustainability strategy.
